Of the 25 biggest wallets by 30-day volume right now: 3 on the skill leaderboard at all, 5 net losers over their lifetime, 17 in the top half on forecasting. Of the 25 biggest by open size: 3 ranked, 1 net losers, 8 in the top half on forecasting. The counts are taken from the tables above, so they move as the tables do.
The biggest wallet by volume is usually a market maker or a high-frequency bot: it quotes both sides of thousands of markets and trades its book over and over, so its volume says how much it trades, not how well. Open size is closer to conviction, money left in positions until they resolve, but one large position can be a hedge, a long-dated bet, or a mistake still waiting to settle.
The skill columns answer a different question: were the prices this wallet paid good prices? The skill rank is the wallet's place on Polyrank's default leaderboard, which scores calibration, edge over the market price and risk-adjusted return. The forecasting percentile compares how often the outcomes a wallet bought happened with the prices it paid, across its resolved positions; a wallet with too few resolutions shows "—" rather than a guess.
How to read a whale's record
- Open the wallet: the profile shows P&L after fees, resolved positions and the calibration chart.
- Check the resolved count. A large open book with few resolutions is a record that has not been graded yet.
- Look for concentration: one market carrying most of the P&L is not the same as a repeatable edge.

FAQ
What is a Polymarket whale?
A wallet that trades or holds far more than most. This page lists two kinds: the 25 largest by volume traded in the last 30 days, and the 25 largest by open size, the money still sitting in positions that have not resolved. A wallet can be on one list and not the other: market makers trade huge volume while holding little, and some holders sit on a few large positions for months.
Are Polymarket whales good traders?
Some are, many are not. Size measures how much money moves, not whether the prices paid were good. That is why every row carries its rank on the default skill leaderboard and its price-adjusted forecasting percentile next to the size; "not ranked" means the skill leaderboard leaves that wallet out. The paragraph above the FAQ counts both for the rows on screen.
How is "biggest" measured here?
30-day volume is the USDC notional of every fill, buys and sells, in the 30 days to the last nightly metrics build. Open size is the cost basis still deployed in unresolved positions at that build: what the wallet paid for what it still holds, not its current market value. Both are rebuilt from public Polygon transactions; the build date is printed above the tables.
Can I get an alert when a whale trades?
There is no automatic whale-alert feed. You can follow any wallet on this page: a free account follows up to 3 traders and gets an alert when they trade; paid plans follow more. Following reads public data only: Polyrank never holds funds or places orders.
Is a whale’s trade a signal to follow?
Not by itself. A large position says someone committed money, not that the price was wrong; market makers hold both sides, and a big holder can be hedged elsewhere. Read the wallet’s record before drawing anything from its size: resolved positions, P&L after fees, and how its entries compared with the price. Nothing on this page is investment advice.
